Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Liquen Travel, every journey is curated: we carefully select each guide, lodge, producer, transportation service and activity. We work with small groups and local partners who share our values, which requires advance planning, coordination and limited-capacity bookings.

Our Cancellation & Refund Policy aims to balance clarity, responsibility and personalised support.

This is a general policy.
Specific details for each trip are reviewed 1:1 and confirmed in writing in the final proposal.

To secure your place:

  • A 30% deposit of the total trip value is required.
  • The booking is formally confirmed once:
    • payment is received, and
    • Liquen Travel sends written confirmation.

The remaining balance (70%) must be paid up to 30 days before the trip begins, unless otherwise specified.

Accepted payment methods:

  • Bank deposit or wire transfer in USD
  • Bank deposit or transfer in Argentine pesos, using the official exchange rate on the day of payment
  • Credit card – one single payment, using the official rate in effect

We do not offer installment plans.

If the balance is not paid on time, Liquen Travel may cancel the reservation and apply the following cancellation terms.

Our group trips require a minimum of 8 participants.

  • The departure is considered confirmed only when Liquen Travel sends written notification.
  • Until then, we recommend not purchasing flights or non-refundable services.

If the minimum number is not reached, Liquen may:

  • Reschedule the trip, or
  • Refund 100% of all payments.

We understand that plans can change, while our local partners secure dates and logistics in advance.

a) 12 weeks or more before departure

  • Full refund,
  • minus bank fees and/or non-refundable third-party costs previously communicated.

b) Between 12 and 6 weeks before

  • Refunds are possible only if a replacement participant is found.
  • If not:
    • the 30% deposit is non-refundable,
    • additional payments may be refunded minus non-recoverable costs.

c) Within 6 weeks

  • No refunds, unless a replacement is found.

d) Within 2 weeks or no-show

  • No refunds for any reason.

Personal reasons (illness, work changes, personal commitments) are not considered force majeure unless covered by travel insurance.

Liquen Travel may cancel or reschedule a trip if conditions compromise safety or quality, including:

  • restrictions from local, provincial or national authorities,
  • severe weather,
  • force majeure,
  • insufficient group numbers.

Travellers may then choose to:

  1. Transfer their booking to the new date, or
  2. Receive a full refund.

Liquen does not cover external costs not purchased through us (flights, hotels, insurance).

Patagonia requires flexibility. Itineraries may change due to weather, safety, availability or environmental conditions.

Liquen Travel may adjust:

  • activities,
  • schedules,
  • routes,
  • providers,

prioritising safety, environmental care and experience quality.
Equivalent or superior alternatives will always be offered.

Travellers agree to:

  • comply with payment deadlines,
  • provide accurate information,
  • hold valid travel documentation,
  • disclose relevant medical conditions,
  • respect local regulations and protected areas,
  • follow instructions from guides and coordinators.

A comprehensive travel insurance policy is strongly recommended, covering:

  • cancellation for personal reasons,
  • medical care and evacuation,
  • evacuation,
  • outdoor activity coverage,
  • baggage and flight delays.
  • Liquen cannot assume costs reasonably covered by insurance.

Prices are expressed in USD.

  • Taxes and provider costs may vary for external reasons.

Any relevant change will be communicated before the final payment deadline.
